Welcome to the Hunter! This guide helps Malayali families arriving in Newcastle with the first steps – from your first week to feeling at home. And remember, HUMSAM is always here to help.
Welcome to the Hunter region
Newcastle is the second-largest city in New South Wales and a wonderful place to raise a family. It offers good schools, a major hospital, a university, beaches and parks, with a lower cost of living than Sydney.
Many Malayali families have made the Hunter their home – working in health, engineering, mining, education, IT and many other fields. HUMSAM brings everyone together to celebrate our Kerala culture.
